If you were like me and had heard nothing or very little about Kamala Harris prior to the current Democrat presidential primaries this book is a great place to learn more about her. This book is written as all good presidential race running books are written, it's equal parts memoir, resume and mission statement directed at the curious American voter. She does an effective job of summing up her life in the most endearing ways to show how her major life events have shaped her as a person and have shaped her morals/ethics. Harris shares some key relevant moments in her career that make her stand out as a true progressive administrator that can set her sights on something and follow it through to the finish line. She acknowledges what things she has accomplished and can be proud of and what things she has yet to accomplish and will be unsatisfied until she does.
